1. Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Policy applies to BetterPlace services that link to it. A particular feature, transaction, or location may provide an additional notice. Third-party services may also apply their own privacy policies.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use BetterPlace, we may collect:

• Account and profile information, such as your name, username, contact details, profile image, referral activity, preferences, and information you submit during signup
• Authentication and session information used to sign you in, protect your account, and maintain access
• Content and media, including video, audio, poster images, titles, transcripts, summaries, tags, AI results, Think Tank choices, and publication details
• Precise or approximate location associated with recording or importing a BeeP, including coordinates and a derived address or map preview when available
• Technical and activity information, including IP address, browser and device details, pages and controls used, timestamps, security events, errors, and diagnostics
• Referral, Bollars, purchase, payment, and transaction metadata needed to provide wallet or paid features
• Messages and information you provide when you contact support or exercise a legal right

3. BeeP Media, Location, and Device-Local Drafts

Recording a BeeP may use your camera, microphone, and precise or approximate location. Importing an existing video may also use the location collected for the upload flow. The relevant feature may not work if a required permission or location is unavailable.

Before upload or publication, BetterPlace may store draft records, poster images, and media chunks in browser or device storage. These device-local drafts are scoped to the active account. Some fallback media can exist only in the current tab and may be lost when that tab or browser session closes. Publishing or deleting a draft changes how long its local data is needed.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

• Create, authenticate, secure, and support your account
• Provide profiles, referrals, Think Tanks, BeeP drafts, uploads, and publication
• Process video and audio and prepare media for playback
• Generate AI-assisted analysis, transcripts, summaries, titles, tags, and suggestions
• Display public content and the profile, location, or context associated with it
• Operate Bollars, payment, transaction, and confirmation features
• Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and threats to users or the Services
• Diagnose failures, maintain performance, and improve user-facing features
• Communicate about support, security, transactions, and material service updates
• Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and respond to valid legal or rights requests

5. AI and Automated Processing

BetterPlace may send BeeP content and related metadata to our systems and service providers to generate analysis, transcripts, summaries, titles, tags, credibility information, and Think Tank suggestions. Automated output may be incomplete or inaccurate, and you should review it before publishing or relying on it.

Any use of personal information for model evaluation, tuning, training, or another secondary purpose must follow the notice, choices, contracts, and law that apply to that use. Contact us if you have a question about automated processing of your information.

6. How Information Is Shared

We may share information:

• When you direct us to publish content or interact with a Think Tank
• With service providers supporting hosting, authentication, media storage and processing, realtime events, maps, payments, communications, security, support, and AI processing
• To comply with law, court orders, valid rights requests, or lawful government demands
• When reasonably necessary to protect people, prevent fraud or abuse, investigate security incidents, or enforce our Terms
• As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of business assets, subject to applicable notice and legal requirements

7. Public Content

Publishing a BeeP can make the media and associated profile, title, transcript, location, analysis, Think Tank, and interaction context visible to other people. Public content may be copied or shared by others outside BetterPlace.

The current product does not give authors an edit or delete control for published BeePs. This product behavior does not remove rights provided by applicable law or prevent BetterPlace from restricting or removing content for valid legal, rights, safety, abuse, or service-integrity reasons.

8. Cookies, Authentication, and Device Storage

BetterPlace uses cookies and similar browser technologies to authenticate accounts, maintain sessions, protect the Services, remember operational preferences, and support requested features. Browser storage, including IndexedDB or similar storage, may hold account-scoped drafts, media chunks, upload state, and other data needed for the BeeP workflow.

Blocking cookies or clearing browser data may sign you out, remove local drafts, interrupt an upload, or prevent parts of the Services from working.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Services, complete transactions, maintain security and records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and why it is processed.

Device-local drafts may remain until publication, deletion, browser-data removal, or storage loss. Public content may remain after account closure to preserve conversations, prior sharing, safety, rights, or legal records. We may delete, de-identify, restrict, or retain information when appropriate and permitted by law.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No storage, transmission, or processing system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your credentials and contact us if you suspect unauthorized account access.

11. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, objection or restriction, or withdrawal of consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. Some rights are subject to exceptions and identity verification.

You can manage browser permissions for camera, microphone, and location in your device or browser settings. Withdrawing a required permission may prevent the related feature from working. To submit a privacy request, email privacy@betterplace.co.

12. Children and Guardian Consent

The minimum age for BetterPlace and any guardian-consent requirement depend on the markets we support and applicable law. Do not use the Services if you do not meet the age or consent requirements that apply to you. A parent or guardian with a privacy concern may contact privacy@betterplace.co.

13. International Processing

BetterPlace and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards and provide additional information about international transfers.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services or legal requirements change. The revision date shows when this version changed. When required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent before a material change takes effect.
